Sawmilling South Africa
is delighted to announce the next webinar in our Talking Timber series. Brought to your screen by the Forest Stewardship Council, this webinar will focus on matters relating to certification, using sustainably sourced timber and the role of timber in the built environment.

Architects, designers and construction engineers need to understand that their approach to materials sourcing could affect the natural environment and communities – and that many clients are caring more about these issues.

By using certified wood in construction or by becoming an certified product supplier or manufacturer, companies can demonstrate the strongest possible commitment to protecting our forests, sourcing sustainable timber from accredited growers, and in doing so, gain significant benefits for their customers, brand and business.

Gerard Busse from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) will share more on FSC certification and members, and how you can build sustainably with FSC-certified timber.

Georgina Smit from the Green Building Council South Africa will also share how timber fits into GBCSA’s green building rating scheme, provide an update on their Net Zero Carbon trends, and unpack the role that timber practically can play in today’s built environment.

This webinar is made possible by the Forest Stewardship Council.
